The Balearic Islands, with an area of 4,992 km2, is a small region compared to the rest of the regions in Spain.
It has a population of 1,210,725 inhabitants, that is to say, it is the 12th Community of Spain as far as population is concerned. It has a population density of 243 inhabitants per square kilometer, much higher than the population density of Spain and the rest of the Autonomous Communities.
It is the favorite destination of Germans for having good infrastructures, beaches with crystalline water and excellent hotel facilities. Also has the most recognized paradise in Europe for electronic music and night entertainment, Ibiza Island.

THE CHALLENGE
The challenge was to propose a customer device with a cost efficient, outdoor, robust and capable of providing a stable and efficient connectivity. We found a variety of cottages, far from fiber points where deployment is not profitable for operators. The use of LTE in 3.5 GHz by IB RED has allowed us to launch a competitive commercial offer for connectivity services up to 100Mbps.
THE SOLUTION DESCRIPTION
The CPE 658 model from Sunwave is a very flexible and reliable outdoor residential equipment because supports MIMO, has a programmable channel bandwidth till 20MHz with 12dBi antenna integrated. The equipment is Category 4 LTE, is designed to provide cost effective connectivity in rural areas. It can works with 4G/3G/2G with USIM slot, and supports VPN and Gateway mode. The industrial design of CPE 658 model makes the equipments capable for complex environment of the island.
